About PlayMela

PlayMela Games is a free website of simple, family-friendly games that you play straight in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create.

The name comes from the mela, the fairs and festivals held across Pakistan and India where families spend the day together. We wanted the same feeling online: games that grandparents, parents and children all recognise, in the languages they speak at home.

What makes PlayMela different

• Every game on PlayMela is made by us, with our own design, words and rules pages.
• The site works in English, Arabic and Urdu, with right-to-left layout for Arabic and Urdu.
• Games are small and fast, so they load quickly on mobile data.
• Games are suitable for all ages.

• Daily Word – a new 5-letter word every day with Urdu and Arabic hints.
• Tic Tac Toe – play a friend or the computer.
• Memory Match – find 8 pairs of mela pictures.
• Urdu Quiz – 10 questions on Urdu words, Pakistan and the Gulf.

Ludo, Snake & Ladder, Carrom and Street Cricket are being built next.
